PTZ Security Cameras for Greater Flexibility
Among the cameras that you can use within your CCTV (Closed-Circuit Television) system are the PTZ (Pan, Tilt, Zoom) security cameras. By the meaning of the acronym itself, you can identify that they allow you greater flexibility when viewing the premises. These cameras can rotate to about 90 degrees vertically and 360 degrees horizontally, making them ideal for premises that involve a large open space such as a vehicle parking area or a shopping centre. In addition, these gadgets are equipped with electrically powered zoom lenses that provide a closer look at certain spots when needed.
The rotations of the cameras are manually controllable by an operator. Alternatively, PZT cameras may be programmed to move at certain areas and at certain zoom levels. As the cameras automatically rotate, the security staff in the control centre can interrupt the movement to look back and zoom in to certain areas of suspicion.
PTZ cameras are typically enclosed in domes that are made of break-proof glass, which are composed of materials that will not hinder the camera’s video capture quality. The domes are also weatherproof, making them ideal for outdoor use.
